About Alex

Hi! My name is Alex Beadon and I am a silly, inspired, happy, passionate, positive, creative, dreamer kind of a person. I’m a 22 year old half British half Trinidadian – citizen of the world. My life is one big love affair with photography. I run a photography blog where I document the thoughts and adventures of being a portrait photographer. I see beauty, hope and love in everything around us. I am determined to live my life as honestly and lovingly as possible; hiking mountains, going on fun trips, cooking up deliciously beautiful meals, running a successful business, living life to the fullest  and loving any excuse to celebrate .  I dream of  changing the world in even the smallest of ways.

1) My family is my joy. The three most important people in my life are my dad, my mom and my sister. Together, we make such an incredible team. Not only do I have the most fun when I am with them, but they are my greatest supporters and huge sources of inspiration and motivation. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

2) Life fascinates me. I am constantly thinking about how mysterious life is. Why are we here? Where did we come from? What makes us do the things we do? I feel like my greatest weakness as a human being is getting used to things and taking them for granted. For example: the beauty of the colour green. I always think how beautiful it would be if plants and trees were red instead of green. And then I remind myself that if they were red, I’d probably think how beautiful it would be if plants and trees were green instead of red. Our world is INCREDIBLY beautiful as it is – and the more I try to see each day with fresh eyes, the more I truly see.

3) I’m wildly enthusiastic when doing what I love. I’m a passionate kind of person. I can’t help it. Here’s a list of things that truly excite me: Photography. Social Media. Blogging. Marketing. People. Branding. Design. Fonts. Learning.

4) I was born in Trinidad and Tobago! Whenever I tell people this, they never believe me. But it’s true :)

5) I currently live in England and I LOVE IT. I’ll admit, it took me a long time to love it, but this is the place I have lived longest in my life – so it’s the closest to “home” :).

6) I am a third culture kid. Google it. Google it ;)

7) I love listening to people’s life stories. If I somehow find myself in conversation with a stranger, nine times out of ten I will always ask them for their life stories. People are truly fascinating and have so much to tell - as long as you ask the right questions :).

8) I love reading inspirational books. One day I will make a proper list of the life-changing books I have read, but for now here’s a few: The Alchemist. The War of Art. A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. The Law of Attraction. A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.

9) I love to travel - next on the list? Kenya. Cuba. Australia.

10) I am passionate about marketing & branding - Surprisingly, this is what I studied at university!

11) I believe living outside of your comfort zone is the key to happiness, growth and success. <3 Enough said :)

Thanks so much for stopping by to my little corner of the internet! This is a place for those of us who are PASSIONATE about photography, life, beauty and inspiration. It’s for those of us who think the emotion and feeling behind a photograph matters more than the technicalities of a photograph, and for those of us who believe that dreaming big is just as important as breathing :).

haha you’re so cute! Thanks for the “babbling”, I enjoyed it thoroughly :P And that video is intense! The people in it went through what I went through x1000. But the older I get and the more I meet people from all over, the more I realize that I just LOVE being in multi-cultural environments and I just have a rush in getting to know people’s languages and cultures…

It also explains why I always tell my fiance, “ohhhh I would LOVE to go to that place and live there for a bit.” and he says, “but don’t you say that about every place?” lol. As a lil kid, I ALWAYS wanted to go to Africa and help the children there. Hah! Now I’m babbling. It’s awesome that there’s people like you everywhere. :)Have a beautiful day Alex~

Hi Ellie!

Welcome to my blog! I’m SO happy that you like it here :) You’re a Korean born in Argentina? Definitely third culture kid material! We have something huge in common! No matter where I go in the world I’m pretty much always viewed as a “foreigner”, I’m sure you know how that feels! :) I used to hate it about myself, always wishing that I had one place to call “home”. But now I love it and have learned to embrace that part of myself that will never truly feel like I belong anywhere in particular. It has taught me that my true home is wherever my family and friends are. Plus, it makes me feel even more “one of a kind” :) Here’s an interesting video my mom showed me about it the other day: http://vimeo.com/11658942

Anyways I’m babbling :) I hope you have an AMAZING day!
Huge hugs from one third culture kid to another ;)
xoxo

Okay!! lol, I just googled “third culture kid” and I was not aware of the fact that I am one myself! I never have felt like I belong anywhere in particular…I’m kind of all over the place! But that might just have to do with my quirky personality.

ahhhh! I”m so glad I found your blog! Your zestiness in attitude is contagious :D And I love your photography~very beautiful. I also am fond of the fact that you’re so multi-cultural, and were born in a “random” place. People can’t believe that I was born in Argentina b/c I’m Korean. :P

The more I look around your site the more I love it! It’s too bad we live so far apart- I have a feeling we would have a TON to talk about! :)
