I’m a college student studying Strategic Communications, which if you don’t have any idea what that is, most people don’t, it’s a combination of Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising. Every point Alex has hit I have learned, in some form or another, through my major. What’s awesome is that I pay incredible amounts to obtain this information and Alex gives it away for free! So thanks Alex!

It’s such an important part of running a business and I think often a lot of people tend to forget or get lazy to do it. I am one of those people too at times. In my business I don’t market too often especially when I am in school. I rely heavily on word-of-mouth marketing. I’ve gotten many new clients from my old/continuous clients and it’s an amazing feeling knowing you made those previous clients happy enough that they recommend you to everyone. So not only do you get new clients, your confidence in your work increases. Win-win.

I’m definitely going to focus more on the other tips Alex provided and hopefully won’t rely solely on word-of-mouth marketing.

I too have a degree in marketing and have no problem marketing for other businesses, but when it comes to marketing myself, I’ve been blocking up. Now I’m just going to get over it and jump in. So thank you for the motivation I needed.
