The five words that changed my life.

Day 8,463. Edited with Niagara Blue at 100%, part of The November Collection.

Today I woke up with these words in my head. “Go big or go home.” I’ve heard these words so many times in my life, it’s a very common expression, but for some reason they never really inspired me until today.

All morning they’ve been playing over and over in my head, ”Go big or go home. Go big or go home. Go big or go home.”

And I can’t really figure out why, or where it’s coming from. But those five words are there, embedded in my mind, they won’t go away.

Go big or go home.

We all have greatness inside of us. But how many of us push it to the side saying that we always have tomorrow to be great, today we just want to relax? I tell myself that all the time. But enough is enough.

I think these five words may be the most encouraging five words I will ever need to here. When I feel lazy. Or scared. Or idle. I’m even going to go as far as to say that they are life changing.

Go big or go home.

Think about it.

Because really, we only live once. And we’re here for a reason. We might as well push ourselves to be the very best that we can be. Right?

Are you with me? Go big or go home.

Live large,
Alex

Alex I have been thinking about this phrase a lot lately too, I think in light of class and how much we have been doing lately. I love this! It is always the temptation to take the easy road but the easy road does not, surprisingly enough, lead to our own personal version of paradise. Thank your for challening me gently and being a wonderful friend to myself and many! :) <3

I love this phrase. I said it the other day when someone commented at how RED my hair. It works for so many different things! A great motivator.

    Rachel!

I love that you said it when someone commented on how RED your hair is haha! You’re right, it does work for so many different things. I’m LOVING these five words, I’ve written them in huge letters above my work space so that I can always be reminded of them :)

Hey Alex … Loved this post … its so true … sometimes I wish I could just pack it all in and follow my dreams … and I am working towards it … but current financial circumstances (urgh I hate those words) means its not possible for me to stop working a job with a steady paycheque … it sucks but my other half is incredibly supportive of my dream and helps me wherever he can to pursue it part-time around my day job until the day I take that leap :)

my first motto is ‘everything happens for a reason’ – I’m a big believer in this … and while you have to work hard to get what you want … sometimes it doesnt work out and I think thats ok … If its meant to happen it will … there are certain things in my life where I didnt achieve what I wanted at a particular time and ended up going down a different route … but I look back now and if those unexpected changes in direction hadnt happened, I would never have met my other half, or be where I am now … so ‘live life with no regrets’ would be my other motto …

Thanks for all the inspiration …

    Hi Mina!

I loved your comment so much because I am in total agreement with you. Sometimes the universe has bigger, better plans for us than we can even imagine for ourselves. Sometimes we get taken down a path we originally think is not for us, but ends up being exactly what we needed! You are awesome, thanks for such a perfect comment!
