Why you should always follow your passion! >> Chatty Tuesday!

GOOD MORNING, WORLD!

Did I catch you in time for your morning coffee? I sure hope so! If I did, let me know in the comment section below! That kind of stuff makes me smile :)

Today’s Chatty Tuesday video is ALLLLL about FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS and PASSIONS in life. It’s about LISTENING to that “little voice” and using it as a guide instead of running away from it, quietening it, or calling it “crazy”. It’s about giving that voice of wisdom the respect it DESERVES. It feeds you dreams for a reason! FOR REAL!  I believe that one of the best ways to give it the respect it deserves is to VOICE it. Talk about it out loud, either with a friend, or even with yourself! Since I believe in talking the talk while walking the walk, I decided to share with you two BIG dreams that my own voice of wisdom has been feeding me lately. Talk about putting it all out on the table, right?!?!

Here’s the video in all its glory:

Yes, you! Sitting there, staring into your beautiful screen reading these very words. I know you’re probably a little too scared to comment, but it NEVER hurts to join in on the conversation! So please feel free to leave a comment, and if you need a place to start – try answering some of these questions!

What has your relationship been like with the inner dreamer?  Are you happy with the relationship?

Do you listen to that little voice inside of you? or do you largely ignore it?

What was the last thing that little voice suggested to you? Come on! VOICE IT TO THE WORLD! Give that inner dreamer the respect she deserves!

Do you realise that if anyone can make it happen, it might as well be you!? And there’s no better time to start than today!

Did you find this video helpful? If so, I’d LOVE it if you could share it with some like-minded people <3

PS! Don’t forget to go wild with today’s inspiring tweetable.

That’s lovely that you have that deep belief in yourself, I think it’s important to trust your heart. However I feel that this video portrays you as rather pretentious and I found it a bit ridiculous / patronising. Other than that, nice message.

  • http://www.alexbeadonphotography.com Alex Beadon

@Photogirl I’m happy that you liked the message but sorry that you found it pretentious/ridiculous/patronising … I wasn’t trying to come across that way at all but I appreciate your honesty in letting me know :)! I think that sometimes voicing your dreams can come out pretentious-sounding. And I can see it being ridiculous to others, “who is she to think she should ever accomplish those things?” .. but I think it’s important to believe in yourself and that’s the message I was trying to convey. :) Have a lovely Tuesday! Big hugs xoxo

Alex, before posting this you called me to ask if I thought it would make you sound arrogant and egotistic. I told you it was important to voice your dreams and that the whole point of this post was about dreaming big- so why hold back your own dreams from people watching the video? I really admire that you’re so honest in what you want. Another thing I think is worth mentioning is that a lot of people may not be familiar with ‘The Secret’ where it’s common to speak in terms of “I AM going to do x, y, and z” rather than “I WANT to do x, y, and z,” and the important of NOT saying “I want to do this BUT I can’t because of a, b, c.” You’re right: if you can’t believe in yourself, why would anyone else?

I don’t think I listen to my little voice as much as I should but I’m starting to do it more (as seen the other day with my experience with the Universe! Ha) Its small, but that last thing my little voice told me to do was book in to get my eyebrows done and I ended up getting it for free. I’m so glad I listened to my little voice! I think it’s so important on the big things and the small things. I need to start thinking about my dreams becase I don’t really have any at the moment. But when I think of one I’ll give you a call :)

    Love you LOTS

Wow, great inspirational message! I don’t know why, but I think I really needed this exact message today. Thanks for voicing (pun intended) it! How I came across this message is even more astounding to me. You started following me on twitter, which is odd, since I’ve only tweeted twice, so I followed you back. I then saw all your inspirational messages that captured my attention and really hit me deeply. So often we ignore our dreams for the fear that they are unreal, only to find out later that the reason they would be unreal is ourselves. Thanks for sharing this on the web and following me on twitter, I wouldn’t have read it otherwise, which would have been a shame, I really needed the message! Thanks!

I love this! I honestly think that anyone can make anything they dream of happen. We get in the way of our own selves too many times. I am going to listen very closely to my little voice today.

    Thank you!!

You really are incredibly inspiring. I believe you could do both of those things. I can’t wait to read your book :) This video has made my little voice scream at me and I think I’m going to start listening to it. Thank you so much for being so open and honest on your blog!!

  • http://www.alexbeadonphotography.com Alex Beadon

    Christine,

Thank you so much for your encouragement! I am SO HAPPY that this video has made your little voice scream at you and I hope you listen to it clearly, open heartedly, and with major respect :)

Huge hugs to you today and thanks again for such an encouraging comment!

    Kristi,

We do get in our way so often, don’t we? And it’s just so silly of us to not let ourselves shine as bright as we can! Your comment reminded me of the quote,

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’ We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Keep dreaming big, Kristi, and listen to that voice!
    Big hugs
    xoxo

    Hi Bart!

Thanks so much for your awesome comment! I am SO HAPPY that this message found you at the right time, and I’m really hoping that it will draw attention and respect to the dreams living inside of you!

I LOVED what you said here, “So often we ignore our dreams for the fear that they are unreal, only to find out later that the reason they would be unreal is ourselves.” You are so right! What a great statement!

The other day I was looking for photographers to follow, because I want to be able to see what they are thinking and talking about on their twitter feeds so that I can have as much access to awesome information as possible! So I found you that way and followed you :) Anyways, thanks so much for the comment and it’s lovely to get to talk to you!

Big hugs and I hope you have a great day!!
    xoxo

    Liz,

Your comment was so beautiful to read and came at just the right time. Thank you.

You should definitely start listening to your little voice more often! It’s speaking to you for a reason and feeding you awesome ideas for a reason! Learn to respect it and pay close attention to it! I know it’s there, as you said even in small things like the eyebrow appointment! :). As I said, your voice is there, and you do have dreams, you just need to openly listen out for them when they come your way :)

Can’t wait for next week, love!

    Huge hugs
    xoxo

I think I hear what my voice is saying only to later let it fade. I get ideas and big dreams but I allow myself to get sidetracked and forget about them. I am making an effort to stop doing that, I know I can. Just need to focus. :)

you are awesome- never commented here before but I adore your work- even though it’s different than mine I love your creative mind and your heart and just what you stand for….living out your dream.
i started my photography busines a few years ago and I truly dream about capturing just life- beautiful life- making it stand still and i don’t do any avertising or anything just get clients based on word of mouth. I need to listen to the dreams in my head but i also need to protect my heart- I just recently lost both of my parents and am dealing with that so as much as I know they want me to follow my dreams I need to take time to slow down and not let myself get overwhelmed with life and all the things that are on the to be done list. I think my heart will lead to my dreams but I feel like I gotta slow it down at these moments to deal with the here and now. My dreams are on pause but not really- they run thru my head and the more I run them thru my head the more ideas I get for them.
thanks for this post- just what I needed today

Alex, I love this! I really believe that it is not other people or circumstances that hold us back in life, but mainly our own thoughts. We become what we think, and unfortunately many of us go around thinking lies and misconceptions. Positive thinking, prayer, belief, and planning can change lives! Our thoughts are SO much more powerful than we think they are. I love that you are using your vision and heart and passion to help people and create a business that can thrive. This is business with conscious and I love it! ps. When you get published I want an autographed copy. :)

Great video post Alex!! You are such an inspiration and I have so much respect for you putting yourself out there :) I have been in the throws of writing a novel since I left school. Love your approach on this and I will definitely be taking your advice and listening to my inside voice. Much love, C x

    Hey Alex,

I totally agree with you and its all about Law of attraction.

Please please spend a few minutes and watch this interview by Will Smith..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MmgECgZvpw

He hits the nail on the head just like u did in your video.

Don’t ever say what if or I can’t because everyone can! Just like Will says in his interview.. We think this world is made up of rules and we are constraint to them rules but no we are not.. We can do anything in life and we can make it happen when and where ever we want!

The way you spoke in todays Chatty Tuesday was Law of attraction all over.

    Great Video!

Every action has a equal reaction and the positive you put out in the world will come back to you double if not triple!

    :D

Hey Alex, I’m always drawn to your videos, but this one in particular struck a very loud chord. Thank you for inspiring me at the end of a tough old day :)

Oh dear, Alex. You really hit home with this one! I always thought I was doing okay with listening to my dreamer voice and trying to make them come true. But when you said you used to get embarrassed about telling people you’re a photographer when they ask what you do, I was like “Omg! That’s exactly what I do now!” Every time I’m out with my family, boyfriend, or friends and I get asked oh what do you studying in school or what’s your job.. I am always embarrassed to saying “I study photography” or “Oh I’m a photographer.” I don’t know why! I guess it’s because not only do I doubt myself but I fear that they’ll judge me as well and look at me like “Yeah, okay. Good luck with that.” I recently watched one of your videos though about having a portfolio and you said you have some of your best photos on your phone and iPad.. I think that is what I want to start doing. I need to work on that, and even build up the guts to be like “here… this is what I can create.”

As for my recent dreams, I have a few. One that’s been really on my mind is just developing a stronger photography business and brand for myself. Create unique photos for my clients and make good money doing it. I never thought I wanted to do photo shoots for just every day clients when I decided to study photography in school. I thought I wanted to do bigger things then that like advertising for fashion photography. But I’m realizing just how big and awesome it can be to have a photography business. So that’s what I hope to continue to do. Another dream of mine, that I guess you could say I’m slowly acting on is one day creating images for children’s books. I think I’m slowing acting on it because I’m really working on my PS skills and developing my signature whimsical style. Once I feel my photography and talent is ready, I hope to maybe team up with a children’s book author and collaborate some how. I rarely see photography in children’s books… but who says it can’t happen?

  • http://www.alibeephotography.com Ali Bee

Oh.. and p.s. I think your dreams are amazing. And I have total faith in you with both of them. You have too much of inspired soul for them not to happen!

  • http://www.cristinarossi.co.uk Cristina Rossi

Thank you for this message, just what I needed to see :-) I have always been a great believer of this and have been on a very special path in the past but have lost my way about 5 years ago only to stat to find it again very recently. I think it is very important to surround yourself with positive people and try to move away from the negatives as they can quiet and even completely make disappear your lovely dreaming voice. Thank you again and have a wonderful day x

  • http://soblushed.blogspot.com soblushed

Exactly: I only need to speak it out loud and have confidence in myself!Living in this adult world it’s been a huge challenge for me.. ahah! Thank you Alex for all the inspiration, I love your blog!

  • Haley T.
