So I’ve been spending the last few days at my sister’s place in London. I had a shoot yesterday, followed by assisting another shoot today! Unfortunately, though, her flat had no internet! Yes – total disconnection from the world. So I wrote this for you this morning and promised myself I’d send it to you as soon as I got home. So here it is:
Hey friend,
Today I am on my way to work as an assistant in the studio with Steve Read. It’s currently 7am, I just woke up and knew that I had to write you.
I’ve actually never met Steve before, but somehow we got in touch via email – actually, now that I think of it, he got in touch asking me what it was like to work with my darling make up artist, Natasha, because he wanted to have her on one of his shoots. Anywho … we got to talking and what impressed me the most about him was that not only is he so talented but he has assisted some of my biggest influences including Lara Jade, Kirsty Mitchell and Rosie Hardy. So assisting for him today? Assisting for a guy who’s assisted for the best? It’s like having to take photos of Annie Leibovitz… or cooking a meal for Jamie Oliver… or modeling for Tyra Banks. Yeah. It’s something like that.
What are you up to today? Tell me all about it. I hope you’re pushing boundaries, stepping outside of your comfort zone or doing something awesomely creative. Did you know … I’ve never stepped foot in a studio before – so this is definitely me stepping outside of my comfort zone! haha!
Soooo.. yeah… Wish me luck ;)
Big hugs
xoxo
