Wonderful Wednesday!! Take inspiration from failure!

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesdays, a series on my blog where each week I share an inspiring video along with some of my favourite links from that particular week! I hope you enjoy what you find here, and if you have any awesome links you would like to share – feel free to leave them in the comments section below! :)

I love this video, it reminds me that failure is a part of life and must be embraced as motivation and inspiration instead of recognised as a sign to quit. I hope that you have no fear of failure, it happens to the best of us.

This week I made a request on twitter asking people to recommend me books that changed their lives. The response was awesome, but the most intriguing one was recommended to me by Kisha [[check out her blog, it's pure awesomness]]. It was a book called, “Who Will Cry When You Die” by Robin Sharma. I am LOVING it so far and I strongly recommend you to buy it and read it! Here is an excerpt from the book that I think really applies to the above video:

“…. And understand that if you have failed more than others, there is a very good chance you are living more completely than others. Those who take more chances and dare to be more and do more than others will naturally experience more failures. But personally, I would rather have the bravery to try something and then fail than never to have tried it at all. I would much prefer spending the rest of my days expanding my human frontiers and trying to make the seemingly impossible probable than live a life of comfort, security and mediocrity. That’s the essence of true success.”

*Sigh* That’s my kind of book for sure! Thanks Kisha!

As always, love your posts! My only problem is the Pinterest one – now, I’m sure I don’t understand all the legal jargon, but I feel like it boils down to this – don’t want your stuff shared on the internet? then don’t share it on the internet. done and done.

Alex, love your posts as always. I had to sadly delete my Pinterest board too!! Such an interesting article, and I am pleased I read it, but so sad to delete them all :( Hope you are well. Looking forward to meeting up when your back to UK xx

Hey Charlotte, I feel weary about the whole Pinterest thing – but I feel like I’ve mainly been pinning directly from websites and trying to always give credit. Plus I feel like it’s the point of Pinterest, you know? I don’t know. Honestly I love it too much to say good bye to it. I just hope I’m not doing anything wrong! Can’t wait to meet up when I’m back, we should start planning in advance! <3 xoxo

I’ll have to read that book! The Secret is a very inspirational read as well. Definitely changed my life forever.

Hi Alex, here’s an inspiration video for you to watch about leadership and leading from your own personal ‘why’ of life’s purpose. I learned a lot and it has echoed a lot of the advice and thinking I’ve done to re-engineer my thought process from one of working for someone else to one of working for myself. Hope you like it. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action.html

Cathie! A TED video I actually haven’t watched! Thanks so very much for sharing it, I’m excited to spend the 20 minutes watching it tonight. It’s always nice when someone sends you a link they think you would enjoy as it saves you the time it would normally take to find something awesome and inspiring! So thank you! I appreciate it! <3

Here I am getting caught up on your blog (left a comment on your ‘what’s in my bag’ post) and I come to this page, scroll down, and see that you’ve linked to me! What a lovely surprise!

I am glad you are enjoying the book. It’s my most favourite inspirational, life-changing book…you know where I ended up after reading it! Please let me know what you think once you’ve finished!

Kisha, the book is FANTASTIC. Seriously loving it, each morning my boyfriend and I go through one chapter together and discuss it. It’s turning into a nice little tradition :) Thank you so much for the fabulous recommendation! I hope it changes me for the better, as it did for you! Big hugs! xoxo
