Art in the modern world : Wonderful Wednesday

PressPausePlay from House of Radon on Vimeo.

Hey guys,

So this is a long one. But, honestly, it’s well worth the watch. It was incredibly inspiring for me to watch, and although they don’t really touch on photography, it’s all about art in the modern world, and what technology means for artists, how it’s helped artists and how in a way it’s almost devalued art itself. My favourite part? When they discuss how artists no longer need agencies, they are their own agents, creating their own brand, and now have the power to build their own careers. Remember this on your journey, YOU HAVE THE POWER TO BUILD YOUR OWN CAREER. No one else is needed but YOU.

Big hugs

If you’re in the mood for an equally inspiring, but much shorter video - check this one out.
An interview with one of my favourites, Gala Darling, on the life of a blogger.
This is different from anything I’ve ever seen before. And because of that, I like it :).
I just discovered film director Yoann Lemoine, loving his work.
An awesome place for curated information. I love it.
I’m loving this photo. She looks like a mermaid :).

I haven’t been able to watch it yet. But it’s the biggest one on my list right now.

Adam – it’s a MUST SEE! I heard of it a few days ago but was a bit bummed at it’s length – had to put aside an evening to watch it. It was soooo worth it! I loved every second of it and related to it so much, I think you will too. PS Expect an email from me tonight! <3

A friend had posted it on their wall a couple months ago (this girl http://www.adamallenphotoblog.com/?p=1458). She’s a musician and she’s able to get her music out there in a way she couldn’t have had it not been for modern technology.

We’re planning to buy a digital copy. I have a feeling this is one I’d want to own. As well as I’d like to send some monetary support their way. So budgeting for it and setting time aside time to watch it are the only things that have kept Sarah and I from seeing it.

AND… (I’m leaving a novel like usual) I really appreciate your attitude on this subject. You and a couple other people, like Scott Kelby, always take on this “embrace change” attitude. You’re so excited about it. Though I’m such an eternal optimist, I’m unfortunately often discouraged by the amount of competition modern technology creates. But I see now that I should be more excited. I mean, you and I both would not be able to express ourselves the way we do, and we would have never been connected, had it not been for modern advancements in media and technology.
