Anna With Love – Portraits in Toronto

As I mentioned earlier this week, I think it’s so important to jump at opportunities. Last month I was visiting Toronto, Canada for a family wedding – and I decided to post it on my facebook page a few weeks before that I would be there. The response was awesome, and as I’ve mentioned previously, I was able to 1) Meet up for tea and an interview with Anna of Anna With Love. (Check out the interview here!!) 2) Go out to lunch with Dallas, Diana, and Debbie. 3) Do a photo shoot with Dallas and then 4) Go for a sushi dinner and drinks with Debs and Taylor. All in one day. Booyah. How’s that for making new friends, having new experiences and LOVING IT?

Anyways – so I was scheduled to meet up with Anna, and I’m so so so happy that I did. She is such a cool person, and we are very like-minded. I sooo enjoyed our conversation, and as happy as I am to be a featured, interviewed photographer on her blog, I’m even more happy that I got to meet her. She rocks. Seriously. I kind of wish she could live right next door to me. We would totally be best friends. ;) Anyways, the interview took a lot longer than expected because we could not stop chatting and getting carried away – in the end I only had about five minutes to grab some quick shots of her. Here’s what I walked away with:

She’s gorgeous isn’t she? I seriously could have photographed her forever.

I hope you all have a beautiful week! :)

Hi Alex, I think that the fact you did get on like a house on fire BEFORE you ever took a photograph of her allowed her true self to shine out. I think its incredibly important to talk to folk first before sticking a camera in their face :S
Lovely work Alex and I do the same too, post out that I’m visiting a place and meet up with locals to go have fun :D

Loved the interview… and left a long comment there… your interviews are always SO interesting Alex! Like Cathie said, I think your images do show that you two had already connected. I AWLWAYS make sure to take at least five minutes to just chat and connect before shooting. Especially with kids but definitely with adults as well. So important to give everyone a chance to relax and enjoy themselves. You know?
