Today I went to Niagara Falls for the very first time. Honestly, I wasn’t that excited for it at all since I had heard many people say what a tourist trap it was, but as soon as I got there I fell in love. Watching the immense power of the water reminded me how effortlessly powerful nature is, and it was very inspiring and an intensely moving experience. I didn’t expect to be moved or inspired by the falls at all, but somehow I was. It made me feel like such a small part of this world. Aren’t we all just small and beautiful parts?
Apparently back in August a Japanese student fell into the waters and died. After I heard that I couldn’t help but feel so sorry for anyone who has ever accidentally fallen down the Niagara Falls, what an awful way to die, so unexpected and the poor thing must have been so scared. I felt scared for her, and then I was reminded of this week’s Embolden theme: Fear. I thought maybe I could somehow capture what I would image she felt into a photo. It’s just an idea, though. We’ll see ;).
Tomorrow I head back to England! I’m so excited to get back home (after almost three months of being away!). There’s a photography exhibition on the 17th that I really want to go to. It’s going to be featuring artist Alexandra Cameron, a girl who’s work I really admire. If anyone is in London and has the chance you should definitely all check it out. I haven’t decided if I’ll be able to go or not yet, but am really hoping that I’ll be able to!
Anyways, here are my favourite photos of Niagara Falls!

For those Photoshop lovers out there, I used a brand new action I created specifically for this – it’s called, “Niagara Blue”. Great for scenery, particularly water/ocean/lake shots. Buy it now here.

Have you guys ever been to Niagara Falls? What did you think about it?
