Behind the scenes of Flooded Hopes

Yesterday, in the comments section Yana asked the following question:

“I love it! Do you use a tripod? Or do you set up the shot then have someone snap the shutter? Just wondering.”

So I thought I would answer her here on the blog. I do use a tripod, along with my handy dandy remote. I focused on something in the water, slowly walked to that point (as to not create waves and watch my camera die before my eyes), got in position and clicked away on my remote. I’m never 100% sure if it’s in focus and what I’m going for, so I always have to shoot multiple times to get it right.

Below you can see some behind the scenes images along with the final result:

Hope that answers your question, Yana :)

Love to you all <3 Keep creating

Haha, these pictures scare me so bad. All I can see is the vision of that camera dropping into the water :D

Alex, thanks so much for answering!
My camera being so close to water would scare me just as much… Oh, the risks of a creative soul! Keep inspiring.

I love this post because we’ve talked about water portraits before. I can’t believe you did this!

You’ve got to do the bath shot now!

Ah this is how I lost my first camera :(. Although mine was on the shore of the ocean, where there were waves. But a small wave knocked my tripod over while I was in the water and that was one of the saddest days ever :(.
