The other day we went shopping in London because my mom needed new boots. We went through store after store in search of the perfect boots, each store containing items more beautiful than the last. “One day I’ll be able to walk into this store and buy everything I want,” I thought to myself, “I’ll have the best shoes, the nicest dresses and the best accessories. Ooooh that would make me so happy.” And then I stopped at the sudden realisation that actually I was wearing an old jacket I’ve had for almost four years now. My shirt was about three sizes too big. I was wearing these ugly jeans with dirt all on them from rolling around in the mud during a shoot, and none of this actually matched the shoes I was wearing. I was a walking fashion disaster if I’d ever seen one. But I was as happy as can be. I never want to be someone who needs something to be happy. Happy isn’t a place, it’s a state of mind. You can be happy no matter what situation you find yourself in, it’s simply a choice you have to make. So people, be happy.
Here are some photos that have a special place in my heart.
