Behind the Scenes of Autumn Princess

Hey everyone,

Today I’m going to show some behind the scenes shots of my photo shoot “Autumn Princess” which can be viewed here: Part 1 and Part 2.

This shoot was inspired by the beautiful season of Autumn. The colours make my heart sing and make me come alive. My mind imagined an Autumn Princess, a beautiful woman in a dress made of leaves, surrounded by gorgeous colours and scenery. Little did I know that all of my ideas would come together to create such a beautiful shoot.

Here is one of the final images:

The shoot required a dress of leaves. I knew that we had to create the dress the same day of the shoot, to make sure that the leaves would stay fresh. I was really nervous about how it would turn out, I had scheduled for both Chloe and Natasha to come that day and obviously the dress wouldn’t be finished until the morning of the shoot. I was scared that the dress wouldn’t be ready in time, or that it would look horrible, but somehow everything worked out perfectly.

My mom was so important in this shoot, she came with me to pick leaves that morning to stick on the dress, and she helped glue gun all of the leaves to the dress.

Our kitchen was like a blizzard of leaves, and I must admit I was so excited for it all to come together to see the final dress. After we stuck down most of the leaves we made Chloe try it on so that we could glue any extra leaves down.

After the dress was finally finished, Natasha arrived. She is a fabulous make up artist, but also did Chloe’s hair. I felt so lucky that she was able to make it to the shoot, the final photos would not have looked nearly as complete without such beautiful make up, and she really helped my vision come to life. I really have to applaud her, I know nothing about make up, so I gave her complete control to do as she pleased as long as it stayed within the theme, and she really knocked it out of the ball park.

Make up inspiration:

And she also did Chloe’s hair :)

When we arrived at the location Natasha topped up Chloe’s make up, it really looked so beautiful.

Overall, this shoot took literally all day to execute, from the early start of gathering leaves to the final shooting at the end of the day, the preparations for this shoot took way longer than the actual shooting. I really have to thank my fabulous mother, Sara Beadon for assisting me all day. Thanks to the amazingly talented Natasha Buchanan for doing both the hair and make up. And thanks to Chloe Marshall for being such a beautiful model.
