Comfort Zones

As an artist I dread the day that I’m stuck in my comfort zone. I think it’s so important to always push boundaries, throw yourself out of your comfort zone in any way that you possibly can. I believe that you grow tremendously when you’re doing things that scare you and excite you all at the same time. Everything is a learning experience, and although you can’t always see it at the time, failure helps you on your journey to success – so it’s a win-win situation :).

Anyways, this post is a promise and a reminder to myself to always push for more. Not just in photography, but in life as well.

See things differently.

Yes, I do realise that I sound like some kind of self help book, but these sorts of posts are more for myself than for anyone else. This is where I’m at right now. These are the things I’m thinking. And I want to remember them.

    Alex,

Such good thoughts and fun images…..you are on the right path for growth and don’t ever be afraid to push through any fear. We ALL have some doubt about our art and our place in the world but we only have one life that should be lived and shared with those who love us!

Alex, I love your “self help” posts the most (although I also adore your beautiful photography). It’s so important to remember and to reflect on the journey. You will be so happy years down the road when you can look back on all of this :) And your words are always inspiring to me!

It’s not a self book, it’s a thought coming from the heart! That is important. And I thank you for it, because I know what you say. Getting out of the comfort zone, stepping out of the box, or however you want to call it, it is the best thing to do in order to evolve and keep creating. :) Love the colors in the photos!

These are so cool! I am not much of a PS buff so I would have NO clue how to do these. I agree about the comfort zone thing though. I’m trying to stay out of it too.
