Freshers Week Royal Holloway 2009

For those of you who don’t know, Fresher’s Week here at univeristy (Royal Holloway University of London) is a crazy, crazy week. It marks the week before classes officially start, and is the week that all of the new students (aka Freshers) move in. The uni organises lots of activities for the students and all of the returning students are off in their own little groups trying to recruit new members to their clubs/teams/societies etc etc. This year was no exception and I found myself taking some photos of some of the Hockey club’s interesting recruiting techniques :)

She’s perfect in many ways. But for now all you need to know is that she is an AMAZING and DEDICATED organiser. I blame her german efficiency.

The Hockey Club had a bake sale. But I think their greatest source of donation was definitely sponge throwing:

I was supporting Volleyball and still found a way to support Hockey ;) haha. I swear I promoted Hockey more than Volleyball this week thanks to miss Pi.

    hahahaa….these are awesome!! I love the ‘best sex on campus’ sign..haha! Also, the sponge being thrown at that guy is an awesome pic! Great job at capturing all that fun!

    100% agree with Michelle on the third photo… GORGEOUS! Hahah, that sign made me laugh too, and the sponge throwing is hilarious! Such a fun set! Okay, but I love the last image… what an amazing combination of colours. Love it.

    I think Volleyball club will be MOST annoyed that you didn’t have any photos of them. :) Really loved the one with all the girls and those with the guy on his knees. hahaha Looks like he had no intention of getting hurt, and wouldn’t let go for ANYTHING. :) The last picture is my favorite though !!!!!

    re TRA that i blogged about – you should check out the website. i know at one point they offered a few for free so you could try ‘em. i’m SO happy with ‘em. i kinda have a pp style that i’d like to go in and i knew they had some actions that would help me achieve that look. so many popular wedding photogs that i admire use them so hopefully it’ll help me give photos that extra something to achieve ‘my look’ (when i have ‘my look’…haha) also have you tried pioneer woman? she has some wonderful actions that are FREE! i think the TRA dude helped her to develop hers – maybe play around with those to see if you like ‘em?

    btw i’m now following you on twitter too (kayinto) i LOVE your work and look forward to seeing your biz grow and prosper.
