I decided to create a frequently asked questions post. I get emails every week asking me basically the same questions, so I thought it would be cool to post some of the answers on the blog.
What camera do you own?
Canon EOS 400D (aka Digital Rebel XTi)
.jpg)
Meet my baby!!!! Isn’t she beautiful?? ;) Yes, I am a Canon girl. Probably always will be. Anyways, as much as I love my 400D and as amazing to me as it has been, I think our time is soon going to be up, and I will be moving on to bigger and better things (Canon 5D mark II please). It’s going to happen. Watch this space.
What lenses do you own?
(Canon 18-55mm, f/3.5-5.6) (Sigma 55-200mm, f/4-5.6) (Canon 10-22mm, f/3.5-4.5) (Canon 50mm, f1.4)
1) Canon 18-55mm, f/3.5-5.6

This is lens that came with my camera, aka the kit lens. I find it incredibly boring and I barely use it. But it is my first lens, so there is some love in my heart for it.
2) Sigma 55-200mm, f/4-5.6
.jpg)
This is my second lens ever. It’s my zoom lens and I use it to shoot outdoor sports. It’s pretty groovy.
3) Canon 10-22mm, f/3.5-4.5

Mmmmm. My beautiful wide angle lens. I got this as a Christmas present and I could not have been more grateful. It is so so so sweet to me. The fact that it can go down to a focal length of 10mm just makes me so happy and makes my pictures so much better. I can fit so much more into a photo and I LOOOOVE it!!!! This lens is great for landscapes and not very good for portraits because the person’s face WILL come out distorted haha.
4) Canon 50mm, f/1.4
If I had to tell you to go out and buy ONE lens today that’s a) AMAZING and b) WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY .. it would be this one. Canon 50mm, f/1.4 ……. oooh my god. This is my baby, I swear. This must be on my camera 60% of the time. I just LOVE it. The wide aperture (low f stop number) of 1.4 just creates the most beautiful photos. Crystal clear subject, and out of focus background (the above photos were taken with this lens). It’s the BEST lens for portraits, however, it is a prime lens which means there is no zooming ability. Personally, I prefer this because the images are sharper and it gets you more involved with your photo (composition-wise). It’s pretty awesome. Buy it when you get the chance.
Lens of my dreams?
The Canon 35mm f/1.4 L ….. Again, one day I will have this and I’ll be writing to you about how much I love it and can’t live without it :).
Anyways, there’s many more common questions, but I thought this was a good enough start. If you have anything you’d like me to answer, feel free to send me an email :).
